Light accentuates the architecture and creates a pleasant atmosphere. At the same time, light represents a major factor in climate protection – after all, artificial lighting is responsible for a considerable proportion of a shopping center’s energy consumption. A concept consisting of a mixture of natural and artificial light is intended to prevent glare on shop windows and a negative impact on the indoor air conditions.
Intelligent, low-power, low-maintenance lighting fixtures are becoming increasingly important for sustainability certifications, which in turn are also important to investors. Modern LED technology is used in this center to successfully combine energy efficiency with a pleasant atmosphere. In addition to the ability to dynamically adjust the color temperature and dim the lighting, small fixtures are incredibly energy efficient, with LEDs using up to 50 percent less energy than conventional lighting. In conjunction with the right use of natural light, the light emitting diodes significantly help reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions.
